ti4BOK Knowledge Subject functions as a higher-order knowledge element to navigate the higher-order knowledge chapters. ti4BOK Knowledge Subjects encompass four important knowledge elements.
ti4BOK Knowledge Context is a set of different viewpoints/perspectives, which encircles the ti4BOK knowledge concept to provide supporting information for its appropriate understanding and interpretation. We can understand the concept of ti4BOK from two perspectives/contexts. Let’s make a start, to learn and understand ti4BOK with these two perspectives/contexts, before moving towards the Knowledge Concept, Knowledge Aspects and Knowledge Subjects which constitutes the knowledge chapters in the form of 1 Knowledge Base, 4 Knowledge Themes, 16 Knowledge Streams, 64 Knowledge Objectives and 256 Knowledge Points.
The 1st perspective/context is specifically focused on the "How" part, which means how we have designed and developed the concept of ti4BOK, which is based on principles of Epistemology. By this perspective/context, we have defined the selection criteria and as well as arrangement and relationship criteria of various knowledge objects.
Whereas the 2nd perspective/context of ti4BOK is completely focused on the "What" part, which means that, what are the key content related to the principal purpose of the ti4BOK initiative in terms of core technology and management theories and concepts. This context is based on the principle of Ontology.
The concept of ti4BOK has been designed and developed based on the principles of Epistemology - a branch of philosophy concerned with Knowledge. The word Epistemology is derived from the ancient Greek "epistēmē", meaning "knowledge", and the suffix "-logia", meaning "logical discourse". ti4BOK Epistemology Knowledge Theory is the compilation of key conditions and definitions to understand the concept model of ti4BOK, with the knowledge perspective of “HOW”.
ti4BOK Knowledge Ontology represents a dataset encompassing its knowledge domain-specific terms, their synonyms, and semantic association. It acts like a dictionary, but unlike a dictionary, it also contains systematic connections between different entities. it is a logical representation of the overall concept, which enables us to discover various knowledge entities. As an analogy ti4BOK Knowledge Ontology can be seen as a DNA of the ti4BOK concept.
A Knowledge Foundation functions as an underlying basis or principle behind a knowledge concept. ti4BOK Knowledge Foundation represents a structured view of Knowledge Concepts based on their attributes and their relations. Attributes associated with Knowledge Foundations include but are not limited to terminologies, vocabularies, dictionaries, classifications, Granularity Levels, categorizations, taxonomies models, frameworks, and theories.
ti4BOK Foundation stones function as key knowledge entities to build the foundation of ti4BOK. Here are the foundation stones of ti4BOK.
ti4BOK Knowledge Objects are the knowledge entities defined as distinct and independent existence. These Knowledge Objects are the base to define the ti4BOK Epistemology. It includes that how these entities are grouped into distinct categories and at various levels and due to this creating different modules of ti4BOK Architecture. ti4BOK Knowledge Objects are further categorized based on distinct characteristics by which these knowledge objects are arranged and are related to each other. These further categories are Knowledge, Concept, Knowledge Attribute, Knowledge Connect, and Collect.
ti4BOK Knowledge Attribute is a connected and strongly associated knowledge entity with ti4BOK Knowledge Concept. Attributes are the representation of Values and Believe associated with Concepts. An attribute is an explanation expressed using words, phrases, and sentences to make an equal and exclusive distinction among a variety of alternatives. An attribute is a quality or feature regarded as a characteristic or inherent part of a knowledge concept.
ti4BOK Knowledge Connect establishes the relations among Knowledge Concepts. It also represents the effect of one concept on another concept. It discovers the commonalities among various concepts based on probing key attributes from individual concepts and performs a mapping to establish a relationship so as we can categorize certain concepts in specified groups or arrange them in a layered manner to represent in higher-order / level and lower order/level concepts.
ti4BOK Knowledge Collect represents a purposeful compilation or collection of Concepts, based on their attributes and relations. Knowledge Collect represents a kind of grouping, categorization, classification, and labeling of knowledge concepts. We can also envision ti4BOK Knowledge Collect as Higher-order / level Knowledge Objects composed of other lower-order / level Objects based on their concepts, attributes, and interconnect.
ti4BOK Knowledge concept is a representation of a psychological construct or an intellectual structure. ti4BOK Knowledge concept is a medium to represent a logical knowledge entity such as a method, model, standard, rule/policy, domain, and function. We have strategically defined and build the concept of ti4BOK, in a simple and systemic way, so as it can be easily explored, navigated, and understood by industry professionals. To make the concept easily understood we have split the concept into various higher order and lower order knowledge entities, as a ti4BOK Knowledge Management Model.
We can learn and understand this Knowledge Management Model in a systematic and step-by-step approach. To make the ti4BOK Knowledge Management Model easily understood we have split the concept model into smaller knowledge entities. We can start our learning journey by following 4 steps/parts of the knowledge management model.
A life cycle is a sequence of events that brings a new product or service into existence and follows its growth into a mature product with subsequent magnitude stage and decline stage. On this line, the ti4BOK Knowledge lifecycle is about the creation and release of knowledge objects. It's about the process of transforming information into knowledge. it's about, how knowledge is captured and processed as a part of the transforming process.
ti4BOK Knowledge Paradigm is about considering Knowledge Management as an interdisciplinary domain. ti4BOK Knowledge Paradigm includes the diversified aspects of Knowledge Management in different contexts. In one context this paradigm is focused on transforming data into wisdom via intermediate stages of Information and knowledge. In another context, this paradigm is focused on knowledge hierarchy in the form of epistemological perspective and ontological perspective.
ti4BOK Pinpoints are the logical representation to highlight the key concepts of ti4BOK so as we can learn and understand the ti4BOK Knowledge Management Model in a simple and systematic way. ti4BOK is a Knowledge Management Model, which binds all the important aspects and concepts of the fourth to the forthcoming industrial revolution. We can also consider this knowledge management model as a knowledge framework, as it binds the various knowledge entities in close relations to each other.
ti4BOK Knowledge Concept has been built in a multi-level and modular form where we can explore the concept at distinct levels and each level have different knowledge modules, which will take us to new heights of details. We can start exploring ti4BOK with its initial point defined as "ti4BOK Knowledge Elements" along with its knowledge modules at the next levels.
ti4BOK has been designed and developed in a modular architecture style. This is the modular architecture, which makes it agile and adaptable. Here are the 4 key elements of ti4BOK modular architecture.
ti4BOK Knowledge Blocks represents the knowledge entities used to build a larger knowledge structure. Knowledge Block are the lower order knowledge objects to construct a higher-order knowledge object Knowledge Blocks are self-enclosed pieces of organized concepts that can be easily understood and used by industry professionals, and elastically merged into the larger level concepts. Knowledge Blocks are interconnected through common sets of knowledge attributes.
ti4BOK Knowledge Tool represents an interactive view of concepts and their relations meant to assess, assist, and educate its users. A knowledge tool has changeable variable quantity leading to varied knowledge outputs based on knowledge inputs. ti4BOK Knowledge Tool can be seen as a mechanism to navigate the knowledge object on the knowledge map. While exploring the ti4BOK we will find a dedicated ti4BOK section mentioned as “ti4BOK Knowledge Map” which functions as a Knowledge Tool to navigate the various ti4BOK Knowledge Themes and Knowledge Streams.
A workflow consists of an organized and repeatable pattern of activity, enabled by the systematic organization of knowledge attributes for the creation of higher-order knowledge objects. ti4BOK Knowledge Workflow represents the repeatable set of activities conducted as part of a larger process to deliver a quantifiable outcome. This outcome could be in terms of conceptualization and definition of a knowledge concept or a systematic arrangement of lover order knowledge objects to build a higher-order knowledge object. Knowledge Workflow is a knowledge capturing technique for knowledge transformation.
ti4BOK Knowledge Outlook is a well-defined and self-sufficient viewpoint of multiple concepts and their relations - irrespective of knowledge content format or knowledge content medium. It could be an article, blog, concept map, web content, digital/social media post, or a knowledge artifact written by a knowledge practitioner. An attribute associated with Knowledge outlook is a criterion based on which we can add a knowledge artifact in a knowledge base. ti4BOK knowledge outlook urges the users with the right knowledge artifacts to learn and understand the diversified knowledge objects.

ti4BOK Knowledge Structure is an arrangement of higher-order Knowledge Objects, composed of lower-order knowledge objects in multiple layers also called levels. This is the next progressing stage to understand the concept of ti4BOK.
Let's visit the next section dedicated to ti4BOK Knowledge Structure.
ti4BOK Knowledge Structure is about the structuring of ti4BOK Knowledge Objects. ti4BOK Knowledge Structure is an arrangement of higher-order Knowledge Objects, composed of lower-order knowledge objects in multiple layers also called levels. Further, these knowledge objects have given specific terminology to distinguish them at different knowledge levels. The concept of Knowledge structure is also becoming important in the context of the ti4BOK Knowledge Framework. As this is the knowledge pinpoint, from where we are going to apply the concept of Knowledge Index by giving specific naming conventions / nomenclature and numbering to different knowledge objects.
ti4BOK Knowledge Structure - representing the "How" attribute. "How" is the attribute that emphasizes on to organize the objects of ti4BOK. ti4BOK Knowledge Levels are the next progressing stage to understand the concept of the ti4BOK Knowledge Framework. As mentioned, we have categorized the knowledge Objects into 4 Levels. It represents that ti4BOK Knowledge Structure is an architecture of 4 levels of knowledge objects. At this point, we can simply categorize these levels as: -
As mentioned earlier, the concept of Knowledge structure is also becoming important in the context of the ti4BOK Knowledge Framework. As this is the knowledge pinpoint, from where we are going to apply the concept of Knowledge Index by giving specific naming conventions/nomenclature and numbering to different knowledge objects. Here is the representation of different knowledge objects with a specific identity name that belongs to a particular knowledge framework level.
At level 1 we have organized the knowledge objects at highest order which is situated at "Knowledge Base". Here "Knowledge Base" is the representation of the overall concept of ti4BOK. ti4BOK functions as a foundation of the complete ti4BOK concept. We can also see this level as an illustration of the ti4BOK concept as a single knowledge entity/knowledge object. This single knowledge entity/object is a holistic representation of an all-inclusive ti4BOK concept. Starting from this highest level (Level 1) we have categorized the objects based on their knowledge concept, knowledge attributes, knowledge aspects, knowledge relations / connect, and knowledge collection/grouping.
Nomenclature and taxonomy for ti4BOK Knowledge Objects at level 1 are titled "Knowledge Themes". Knowledge Themes are 1st Order of Knowledge Objects and we have defined 4 knowledge objects at this level. This means these 4 knowledge objects defined at the 1st level, represent the 4 different knowledge themes. In a simple view, Knowledge Themes represents the highly key category focused and 1st order knowledge groups to building the structure of ti4BOK Knowledge Framework.
Level 2 is about the further classification of knowledge objects at lower order, below knowledge themes which are at level 1. In an equivalent way, like as we did at level 1, we have categorized the objects based on their knowledge concept, knowledge attributes, knowledge aspects, knowledge relations / connect and knowledge collect / grouping.
Nomenclature and taxonomy for ti4BOK Knowledge Objects at level 2 are titled "Knowledge Streams". Knowledge Streams are the 2nd Order of Knowledge Objects and we have defined a total of 16 knowledge objects at this level. This means these 16 knowledge objects defined at 2nd level represents the 16 different knowledge streams with their individual specific name/titles. In a simple view, Knowledge Streams represents the subcategory-focused and 2nd order knowledge groups to building the structure of the ti4BOK Knowledge Framework.
Level 3 is about the further classification of knowledge objects at lower order, below knowledge streams which are at level 2. In an equivalent way, like as we did at levels1 and 2, we have categorized the objects based on their knowledge concept, knowledge attributes, knowledge aspects, knowledge relations / connect and knowledge collect / grouping.
Nomenclature and taxonomy for ti4BOK Knowledge Objects at level 3 are titled "Knowledge Objectives". Knowledge Objectives are the 3rd order of Knowledge Objects and we have defined a total of 64 knowledge objects at this level. This means these 64 knowledge objects defined at the 3rd level represent the 64 different knowledge objectives. As compared to levels 1 and 2 Knowledge Objects have their individual names/titles, Knowledge objects at level 4 are defined as a single sentence statement to illustrates the meaning of a Knowledge Objective. In a simple view, Knowledge Objectives represents the function / domain-focused and 3rd order knowledge groups to building the structure of the ti4BOK Knowledge Framework.
Level 4 is about the further classification of knowledge objects at lower order, below knowledge objectives which are at level 3. In an equivalent way, like as we did at levels1 to 3, we have categorized the objects based on their knowledge concept, knowledge attributes, knowledge aspects, knowledge relations / connect and knowledge collect / grouping.
Nomenclature and taxonomy for ti4BOK Knowledge Objects at level 4 are titled "Knowledge Points". Knowledge Points are the 4th order of Knowledge Objects and we have defined a total of 256 knowledge objects at this level. This means these 256 knowledge objects defined at the 4th level represent the 256 different knowledge points. Similar to Knowledge Objectives, Knowledge objects at level 4 are defined as a single sentence statement to illustrates the meaning of a Knowledge Point. In a simple view, Knowledge Points represents the specific topic-focused and 4th order knowledge objects, elaborated as the knowledge artifacts (blogs and articles) aligned with the motive of specific higher order knowledge objects, to build the structure of the ti4BOK Knowledge Framework.
ti4BOK Knowledge Map - representing the "Where" attribute. "Where" is the attribute which emphasizes on, to navigate the concept of ti4BOK. Knowledge Map is a kind of tool to navigate and explore the diversified Knowledge Themes, Knowledge Streams, and Knowledge Objectives in an elaborated and systematic way. To make the navigation of these knowledge objects at distinct levels of knowledge architecture, we have cultivated the ti4BOK knowledge index process. We have defined this navigation process in such a way that one can easily navigate across the knowledge objects in both directions.
To keep our framework concept, as simple as possible, we have tried our level best to represent it in just Black & White Colors. However, to make the navigation of Knowledge Objects easier, we have decided to use 4 color schemes, so that we can easily identify the knowledge objects, belonging to a particular group or connected based on specific and aligned knowledge attributes. With respect to knowledge architecture, knowledge themes are the knowledge objects, defined at level - 1. Further to highlight, that same color scheme has been applied on knowledge streams defined at level - 2.
For the distinctive visualized appearance of 4 Knowledge Themes and their associated Knowledge Streams, we have defined a ti4BOK Knowledge Theme - Color Scheme by using 4 Colors.
ti4BOK Knowledge Theme - 1 is highlighted with Red Color. This theme is titled "Industry Fourth Revolution". ti4BOK knowledge theme - 1, is based on ti4BOK current aspects. To further understand; ti4BOK current aspects are related to current ongoing aspects of Industry 4.0 digital transformation. These aspects are related to an enterprise's journey from digitization through digitalization to digital transformation. This is related to the current execution of Industry 4.0 related technology initiatives. It is about the industry now aspects.
With reference to the concept ti4BOK Knowledge Architecture, we have defined 4 Knowledge Streams associated with Knowledge Theme - 1. As per the knowledge index process, these knowledge streams have given a number identity, from Knowledge Stream 1 to Knowledge Stream 4. In line with knowledge theme -1, these 4 knowledge streams are also highlighted with Red color. Further, these Knowledge Stream have given their individual names as per the associated knowledge concept.
ti4BOK Knowledge Theme - 2 is highlighted with Light Blue Color. This theme is titled "Transformation FLOW". ti4BOK knowledge theme - 2, is based on ti4BOK strategy aspects. To further understand; ti4BOK strategy aspects are related to the conceptualization of strategy and its associated functions including but not limited to Strategy Framework, Transformational Leadership to execute the transformation programs, Operational Excellence and continuous evolution aligned with changing landscape of business and technology.

As per the knowledge index process, these knowledge streams have given a number identity, from Knowledge Stream 5 to Knowledge Stream 8. In line with knowledge theme -2, these 4 knowledge streams are also highlighted with Light Blue color. These Knowledge Streams have given their individual names as per the associated knowledge concept.
ti4BOK Knowledge Theme - 3 is highlighted with Orange Color. This theme is titled "Industry 4.0 Maturity Model". ti4BOK knowledge theme - 3, is based on ti4BOK growth aspects. To further understand; ti4BOK growth aspects are related to the maturity model of an organization, with respect to its operations, product, and services evolution, customer experience, competence development continuous improvement, aligned with future skill requirements to implement and operate emerging technologies.
With reference to the concept ti4BOK Knowledge Architecture, we have defined 4 Knowledge Streams associated with Knowledge Theme - 3. As per the knowledge index process, these knowledge streams have given a number identity, from Knowledge Stream 9 to Knowledge Stream 12. In line with knowledge theme -3, these 4 knowledge streams are also highlighted with Orange color. Further, these Knowledge Stream have given their individual names as per the associated knowledge concept.
ti4BOK Knowledge Theme - 4 is highlighted with Green Color. This theme is titled "Industry Forthcoming Revolution". ti4BOK knowledge theme - 4, is based on ti4BOK future aspects. To further understand; ti4BOK future aspects are related to the forthcoming industrial revolution. These aspects cover the future road map of the current ongoing industrial revolution. It includes but is not limited to the factory of the future and various influencing factors which will decide the shape of industry & society.
With reference to the concept ti4BOK Knowledge Architecture, we have defined 4 Knowledge Streams associated with Knowledge Theme - 4. As per the knowledge index process, these knowledge streams have given a number identity, from Knowledge Stream 13 to Knowledge Stream 16. In line with knowledge theme -4, these 4 knowledge streams are also highlighted with Green color. These Knowledge Streams have given their individual names as per the associated knowledge concept.

The Root Point is the point from where we started our ti4BOK journey. This is the starting point of our journey where we defined the concept of ti4BOK as WMM Compass and initiated to navigate and explore various levels and milestones of ti4BOK starting from Discover the BOK.
Locate the point is the successive stage where we will further navigate and explore the knowledge topics in the form of knowledge points associated with specific knowledge objectives of a particular knowledge stream. Locate the point is the final stage to elaborate the key concepts.
