ti4 Catapult - Transformation Program is the implementation of emerging technology to transform products, services, and business models, through replacing non-digital or manual processes with digital processes or replacing older digital technology with emerging digital technology. Digital solutions may enable – in addition to efficiency via automation – new types of innovation and creativity, rather than simply improving and strengthening traditional techniques and procedures.
Based on process milestones, we can represent the concept of ti4 Catapult in two phases.
ti4 Catapult Initiation Phase is focused on Business Model Innovations and Operating Model Innovations, where an enterprise takes initial steps to transform its Business and Operating model. Following are the four milestones of the ti4 Catapult Initiation Phase.
Due Diligence is the very starting point to Learn & Understand the as-it-is situation of an enterprise. It is a 360-degree assessment exercise to evaluate the current enterprise maturity level in various aspects. It involves all the business functions and stakeholders related to the problem statement or motive for the transformation. The outcome of Due Diligence is a holistic picture of the current state of an enterprise.
Prioritization Matrix is about an exercise to identify a portfolio of high-priority Industry 4.0 use cases. Setting priorities for The Industry Four use cases involves thinking through all of the dimensions including but is not limited to, analysis of Due Diligence outcome, Business Priority, Technology, Urgency, Risk, Complexity, Value, Benefits, Impact, RoI, Time & Efforts, Cost factors, and No. of Stakeholders involved.
Readiness Calculations is a crucial step, which is required at primarily two stages of any Industry 4.0 transformation program. One is before the execution of any program to verify the Project Plan and Business Use Case along with all associated factors. The second is launching the program on the ground where we are going to impact our workforce by introducing new processes, ways of working, and tools and our customers by launching new products, features, and services.
This is the next step of The Industry Four transformation program where we execute the transformation program by utilizing the toll and best practices of change management. We can break the execution program into two phases. 1st is the Development Phase, where we develop / Build a solution based on identified priority business use cases and 2nd is the Implementation of the solution and use it in routine Operations based on the principles of DevOps in close loop feedback.

Following are the four milestones of the ti4 Catapult Continuation Phase.
Architecture Structure is a holistic representation of the diversified architectures of an enterprise. These different architectures are somewhat influenced by the OSI Layer Model. Aligned with different layers, we have mainly four Architectures, named As Technology Architecture, Data Architecture, Presentation Architecture, and Application Architecture. These many Architectures are connected with each other with an Information flow Architecture.
Strategy Formulation representation is highest order Architecture, where we Define the Enterprise-wide Policies & Frameworks for different aspects and contexts. Strategy Formulation is about to Define, Business Vision, Business Mission along with its Core Values. It also outlines the Business Model Architecture along with Operating Model Architecture and interrelation and feedback process between the two.
Governance Framework is about supervising, managing, and guiding all the business functions, and the process by defining well-specified goals aligned with strategy and involving specific stakeholders in accordance with their defined responsibilities and accountabilities. Governance Framework suggests establishing the individual governance structure for individual business functions and key business areas and processes.
Center of Excellence is the representation of a team, function, unit, or entity that provides leadership, best practices, research, support, and/or training for a focus area. In The Industry Four Transformation context Center of Excellence focuses on evolving Business Model Innovations and Operations Maturity Model. COE acts as a coordinating function which ensures that change initiatives are delivered consistently and well, through standard processes.
